MUGEN MOTORSPORTS, HONDA'S FIRST TRAINER
HISTORY
Mugen Motorsports is a Japanese company dedicated to the preparation for competition of products associated with the Honda brand. It was created in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, the son of the brand's founder, Soichiro Honda.
The word Mugen means limitless. Hence, the company since its inception has distinguished itself by making parts for both the professional sports side and the amateur Tunning side, apart from helping Honda to develop its sports models such as the Si, SI-R (VTI in Europe) or the Type R.
FORMULA 1
The company prepares engines for Formula 1, Formula Nippon and Japanese Super GT.
In 1991, Mugen prepared the V10 engines for Tyrrell, a British racing team, and as the year progressed and collaborated with different racing teams, until he achieved his first victory in F1, at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1996 in a Ligier, driven by Olivier Panis.
During the 1999 season the team achieved two new victories with driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen, but the year ended with the announcement that Honda was returning to Formula 1 by preparing its own engines for the British American Racing team. For this reason, for the 2002 season, Mugen chose to give him the contract with Jordan Grand Prix and withdrew from this competition.

Hola, buenas tardes.
